We have changed the design to combine two types of fabric: Pertex Shield Air and Shield Pro.
*Precautions for Use*
・This product is an ultra-lightweight waterproof shell made from an ultra-thin, waterproof, breathable fabric. Please be careful to avoid damage or tears caused by rubbing against rocks or snagging on trees.
To ensure optimal waterproof and breathable performance, proper care after wearing is essential. The performance of the membrane, the water-repellent finish on the fabric’s surface, and the inner layer of the fabric will be compromised if dirt, sweat, or body oils accumulate on them. Please wash the garment frequently according to the care label instructions.
Because this is an extremely lightweight and thin porous material, products containing petroleum jelly, insect repellent ingredients, or ethanol (such as hair cream, cosmetics, sunscreen, and insect repellent) may cause stains or reduce the fabric’s moisture-permeability if they come into contact with it.
○ Short-lived water repellency
It is generally said that the thicker the fabric, the more water-repellent agent can penetrate it, resulting in higher water-repellency. However, the UL All-weather series prioritizes lightness and breathability, so it uses an outer fabric that is as thin and breathable as possible.As a result, while the water-repellent performance is sufficient at the time of shipment, its durability is lower compared to thicker, breathable waterproof materials.
As long as the water-repellent function is effective, moisture that comes into contact with the fabric surface will form droplets and roll off; however, once the function weakens, the moisture will form a film over the fabric surface, impairing its breathability, which may cause the inside of the garment to become stuffy or wet due to condensation.
If you notice that the water-repellent properties have diminished, you can restore them by applying heat—such as from a dryer or hair dryer—after washing. If the water-repellent properties still do not return, treat the fabric with a commercially available water-repellent treatment.
〇 Points to Keep in Mind During a Plateau
This product is designed for comfortable wear during activities in relatively warm environments; as such, it offers less insulation than standard-weight waterproof shells or winter hard shells. Therefore, when you are stationary or need extra warmth, you will need to adjust your layering accordingly. Please also exercise extreme caution when using this product in harsh environments.

Whether it’s a sweaty hike, a wind-swept ridge, or—of course—a day of pouring rain, the UL All-weather Series is all-weather activewear designed for use in any conditions.
At the heart of its features is the overwhelming sense of breathability provided by “Pertex Shield Air,” a moisture-permeable, waterproof fabric that actually allows air to pass through. However, it also had a weakness: as its water-repellency decreased, so did its water resistance.
Therefore, by using “Pertex Shield Pro”—which offers an excellent balance of water resistance and breathability—in areas most exposed to rain, and “Shield Air” in areas prone to moisture buildup, such as the underarms and back, the brand has succeeded in enhancing confidence in rainy weather without compromising the signature airy feel of the UL All-weather series.
Among the series, the UL All-weather Jacket—featuring a chest pocket that can hold the jacket itself and a double zipper that opens both up and down—allows for quick ventilation even during high-intensity activities.Furthermore, by opening and closing the snap buttons at the armholes, you can quickly roll up the sleeves when it’s hot or use them as thumbholes when it’s cold, allowing the jacket to adapt to a wider range of temperatures.

・Wash on a gentle cycle with water at 30°C or lower.
・Please use a detergent specifically designed for rainwear, or a neutral detergent that does not contain bleach, fabric softener, or optical brighteners.
・Please wash this item on its own or in a laundry net.
・Please make sure the zipper is closed before washing.
・For heavy stains, apply detergent diluted with water and spot-clean with a soft sponge. Do not rub the surface seams or the seam tape on the back.
・Please dry the item periodically on the low-temperature setting (maximum 60°C) in the dryer to restore its water-repellent properties.
・Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
・When ironing, do not use the steam function; iron at a low temperature.
・Do not dry clean
・If products containing petroleum jelly, insect repellent ingredients, or ethanol (such as hair cream, cosmetics, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc.) come into contact with the fabric, they may cause stains or reduce the fabric’s breathability.
