A warm, water-repellent, lightweight insulated waistcoat that packs down compactly, the Dunfri range embodies the brand's philosophy and has long been a Houdini classic, and the Dunfri Vest is no different, combining clean, minimalist design with cutting-edge performance. The Dunfri Vest is similarly developed to be a true multi-tool, combining clean, minimalist design with cutting-edge performance for a wide range of environments and activities.

The Dunfri series, which means 'down-free' in Swedish, contains no down at all. The decision to eschew animal-based materials such as down and feathers and instead use synthetic insulation as the filling is due to Houdini's belief that, in addition to its functional benefits, birds should not suffer for the sake of human comfort from an animal welfare perspective.

The fabric of the Dunfri Vest is made from extremely lightweight and durable Spinner Ripstop, and the insulation inside is made from Primaloft Gold, a cutting-edge synthetic fibre. However, it maintains its insulating properties even when wet, without losing its warmth, making it a material that really shows its worth in adverse weather conditions. The fabric has a PFAS-free water repellent finish and both the fabric and insulation are made from 100% recycled polyester, which means they can be recycled again when worn, ensuring a circular product that is both comfortable and environmentally friendly. It also features a packable function that fits neatly into a storage pocket and is easy to carry on the move.

The Dunfri Vest is ideal for activities where you spend a lot of time outside, such as ski touring or mountaineering expeditions, but it is also ideal for lifestyle situations such as cold-weather camping trips or commuting. It can be worn on its own or as an insulation layer inside or outside the outer layer.
