From the front it looks like a mere shell, but in fact it is an ultralight windproof shell with the back open like a kappo-gai. Ling is not an UL product, so it does not reduce weight unreasonably, but sometimes cutting down on waste and inconsistency for the sake of necessary functions leads to unexpected weight reduction. The KUNAD AIR is a representative of such items and allows you to feel Ling's concept of "knowing what is enough" very clearly.
Heartland
The breathability of Knaadair is 3.0 cm3 /cm2 /s, which is not a high value, but this is because the priority is on blocking. You might think that if you prioritise blocking properties, you could just use a fabric with no breathability, but in fact, thanks to this small amount of breathability, there is no blockage and stickiness to the skin and steam is reduced. This means that the fabric is comfortable to wear while providing protection against sudden wind and cold. There is no wasted fabric between the back and the backpack that would just get in the way of sweat drainage, so it is that much simpler to get out of the heat and at the same time reduce sweat accumulation, the shorter sleeves are cleaner around the wrists and the slightly wider cuffs allow for better airflow.

Sneak a Knadoair somewhere while sinogging.
