The latest addition to the OLYMPUS 275 line, the OLYMPUS 275, uses the latest materials throughout, while retaining the superb comfort that is its hallmark. The OLYMPUS 275 is a pair of shoes with unshakable reliability that can take on even the harshest environments without fear.

Why was the number '275' given to Olympus? The answer can be traced back to the origins of ALTRA's founding.
The founders, Golden and Brian, were working in Golden's father's running shop at the time. There, they saw that many runners were having problems and began to think that the cause might be the construction of the shoes. In particular, they were convinced that the height difference between heel and toe (drop) was causing unnatural form, so they embarked on an unprecedented attempt: they heated the shoes in their oven at home, melted the midsole and modified it to have a zero drop. The temperature at which the midsole reached its ideal softness and enabled the modification was 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

At the time, the concept of a zero-drop did not yet exist in the market, nor did it appear as a clear need. But they stuck to their beliefs and created an innovative pair that broke the mould in order to reduce injuries to runners.
The name "OLYMPUS 275" is more than just a numbering scheme. It is a testament to the ALTRA brand philosophy itself, which is not to follow market trends, but to pursue innovations that we believe in.

The upper is made of Matryx, a combination of tough Kevlar fibres and high-strength polyamide. By weaving it three-dimensionally in a one-piece construction (one-piece fabric), the seams that can be weak points are minimised, achieving a high fit and outstanding durability to withstand the toughest trails.

The mesh-like structure is also highly breathable and quick-drying, and has the flexibility to follow the natural movement of the foot.

The OLYMPUS DNA with 33 mm of rich cushioning and a Vibram Megagrip outsole that grips all surfaces.

With that absolute sense of security as its foundation, this work has achieved a weight reduction that surpasses the regular model, while adding a new part, the scree sleeve, through the use of a Matryx upper and a lean design.

The pair is a high-dimensional fusion of reliable protection transmitted underfoot and a lightness that does not make you feel tired even over long distances.
