■Excerpt from the manufacturer's description
OctaCPCP for Use as a Fleece
In recent years, the outdoor apparel and active insulation categories have expanded rapidly.
Overseas brands were primarily leading the way in product development. One such active insulation filling material was TEIJIN OctaCPCP, which was known for its light weight and high thermal insulation properties.

At STATIC, we chose to use OctaCPCP—a material typically used as a lining for insulated garments—as a single layer. We made this decision because products from brands developed in high-altitude, arid climates tend to be heavy due to the combination of OctaCPCP with a nylon shell, and we felt they would be difficult to layer in Japan, where such garments are often carried as insulated outerwear.

Thanks to its unique mesh construction, it is significantly lighter than fleece fabrics typically considered lightweight—those weighing around 300 grams—and offers exceptional warmth relative to its weight, making it highly portable and suitable for use all year round.

■Material Characteristics
・Lightweight feel: About half the weight of polyester fibers of the same diameter
・Moisture-wicking and quick-drying: Feels about half as heavy as polyester fibers of the same diameter
・Heat insulation: The dead air trapped within the space created by the hollow sections and eight protrusions provides heat insulation.

■Environmental Factors
・Starting in Fall/Winter 2023, we became the first in the industry to use 53% recycled materials.
・Through recycling, CO2 emissions during fabric production are reduced by 23% compared to OctaCPCP made from virgin polyester.
・We use fabric produced at OEKO-TEX®-certified (*) factories in Japan.
・In the fabric dyeing process, biomass (plant-based) is used instead of petroleum to reduce CO2 emissions.
・Cutting scraps generated during the manufacturing process are recycled into new fabric rather than being incinerated.
・Brand, Size Tag, and Care Label: 100% recycled polyester made from plastic bottles

※OEKO-TEX Certified
OEKO-TEX® is a globally recognized mark of safety in the textile industry, offering certification for products that meet the world’s highest safety standards—covering more than 350 harmful substances and far exceeding Japanese safety standards—as well as certification for sustainable factories that take into account the impact on workers and the environment.

■Product Features
・Gussets are added under the arms to prevent the hem from riding up
・A minimalist fleece weighing just 110 g, with all unnecessary elements—such as zippers and hoods—removed
・Made of mesh fabric, it is lightweight and highly breathable, yet offers excellent insulation.
・It stays breathable even when worn during activities, so you don't have to take it on and off as often
・Because it’s lightweight and compact, it’s not only great for spring, fall, and winter, but also comes in handy as a spare layer to keep you warm during summer mountain treks.
