The ultimate in simplicity, the Only Hood can be worn quickly and easily at any time, plus Polartec Alpha Direct for excellent warmth and breathability.
The 'hood-only' design makes it easy to move your head, so you forget you're wearing it, and the water-retaining Polartec Alpha Direct maintains its loft even when wet, so a bit of snowfall is no problem.
At only 51 g, it is lighter than a standard knit cap, and it covers the neck for warmth, can be used as a neck warmer if the hood is not worn, and can even be used as a simple balaclava if the eyes are covered.
By all means, try combining it with a jacket or middle layer without a hood, such as the Light Alpha Vest/Jacket, Merino Coach Jacket or 100% Merino Pullover.

The water-repellent finish of the outer fabric has been moved from C6 DWR to C0 DWR in consideration of the environmental impact.

'Like a balaclava when it's cold.'
In cold conditions, such as under strong winds in severe winter conditions, it can also be worn as a simple balaclava*, covering up to the nose.
*They do not fit the skin as well as balaclavas.
'Comparison of heat retention.'
The Polartec Alpha Direct (85 g/m2) used in the Light Alpha Only Hood is warmer than wool, although not as warm as 1000 FP down, and has a higher insulation capacity than many active insulation materials.
'Superior quick-drying properties'
Polartec Alpha Direct is one of the materials used in Yama-Do's middle layer products and has excellent quick-drying performance.

Stretch cord under the chin for speedy and secure compression.
A stretch cord under the chin can be squeezed at the neck, allowing it to be used as a neck warmer.
They are wider for easy on/off and have piping in an additional colour to prevent misuse.

■ Product care
The titanium coating on the reverse side of the fabric will peel off the particles through repeated friction such as washing*, but with correct care the coating can be maintained for longer.
*The titanium particles that flow into sewage are extremely small and are not considered to have an impact on the environment.
When using a washing machine, set the machine to a low water flow course suitable for delicate garments, etc., as indicated on the washing instructions and wash the garment in a net.
Some types of detergent may very rarely cause a chemical reaction with metal and discolour it, so do not use detergents with bleaching or enzyme ingredients, but wash with a neutral detergent.
Avoid prolonged soaking as the detergent components may exfoliate the titanium.
After washing, do not wring out strongly and hang dry in the shade.
Do not iron or dry clean.
If fluffing of the lining is noticeable at the time of purchase, please wash the product once.
■ Caring for crushed raised hair
The brushed material used in Yamaido's active insulation is characterised by its light weight, excellent breathability and moderate heat retention. However, after repeated use, the bristles may collapse and the warmth retention may decrease.
If this happens, use a metal bristle brush specially designed for plush toys and brush gently along the fur flow. Yama to Michi's own tests have confirmed that taking care of crushed bristles improves warmth retention.
