■About Individual Variations in Color
DF Mesh Merino may exhibit slight color variations from item to item, or show faint horizontal stripes of varying shades on the surface; however, these are not defects but rather characteristics designed to enhance the product's functionality.
While most knitted fabrics are dyed as a whole using the “fabric dyeing” method, DF Mesh Merino employs “yarn dyeing,” in which the yarn is dyed before it is spun into fabric. This is because the fabric features a hydrophobic finish on the side against the skin to quickly wick away sweat and dry it, and a hydrophilic finish on the outer side to draw in moisture; fabric dyeing would prevent applying these different finishes to the front and back separately.
In yarn dyeing, the yarn is divided into bobbins—known as “cones”—for dyeing, which results in very slight color variations between batches. When these batches are knitted together, this may appear as horizontal variations in shade or color differences between individual items; however, this is a result of prioritizing the fabric’s moisture-wicking functionality, and we ask that you view it as a characteristic of this fabric.

DF Merino Mesh, with its textured, mesh-like surface, is designed in such a way that when worn on its own, it is prone to pilling, holes, and fraying due to friction against backpacks and other items.
Wool naturally has short fibers, so it tends to shed when rubbed; compared to synthetic or cotton fabrics, it is a material that wears down relatively easily and is prone to developing holes. You need to be even more careful than with standard wool knit fabrics when moving through thick underbrush or rocky terrain, or when the fabric comes into contact with materials like heavy-duty mesh.
If you anticipate rough handling, we recommend not wearing this item on its own, but rather layering a shell or shirt over it (since it is highly breathable and allows wind to pass through, a shell is also useful for protection against the cold).
■About Color Transfer in Fabrics
Please be aware that this product may cause color transfer if it rubs against white or light-colored shirts that are wet from sweat or rain.
