In snowy mountains, you have to be more careful with layering than in summer mountains. No matter how cold it is, you will get hot when hiking up, but if you wear light clothing, you will cool down quickly during breaks.
Active insulation has reduced the hassle of taking it on and off due to its warmth and breathability, but it alone could not withstand ridge storms and blizzards in severe winter conditions, and down jackets get hot when you move and you want to take them off as soon as you are indoors.
The All-weather Alpha Jacket solves this problem by combining Polartec Alpha Direct, a breathable, warm-keeping fabric, with Pertex Shield Air, a waterproof, breathable material that actually lets air through. It doesn't get too hot when moving and can withstand storms and snowstorms.

-This product has an outer layer of ultra-thin waterproof, breathable fabric. Please take care not to damage or tear the fabric due to rock scrapes, snagging of trees, etc.
To maximise waterproof breathability, care is required after wearing. Dirt, perspiration and sebum will impair performance. Wash regularly according to the washing instructions.
If the water repellent function of the fabric surface is lost, the moisture permeability will also be lost. If you feel that the water repellent performance has decreased, apply heat to the fabric after washing and drying, e.g. with a hairdryer, to restore the water repellent properties. However, repeated washing will cause the initial water repellent to degrade and the water repellent will not return even if heat is applied. In this case, use a commercially available water repellent and care for it regularly.
Due to the extremely lightweight and thin porous material, products containing Vaseline, insecticide or ethanol (e.g. hair cream, cosmetics, sunscreen, insect repellent) may adhere to the fabric, causing staining and reducing the moisture permeability function.
0 About water repellency.
It is said that the thicker the fabric, the greater the amount of water repellent that can penetrate, and the higher the water repellent's lasting performance, but this product uses the thinnest, most breathable outer fabric possible in order to emphasise lightness and breathability. Therefore, the product has sufficient water repellent performance at the shipping stage, but the sustained water repellent performance is lower than that of thicker, breathable waterproof fabrics.
When the water repellent function is active, water on the surface of the fabric falls off in droplets, but when it weakens, it covers the fabric surface like a water film, impairing its moisture permeability and causing the inside of the garment to steam or get wet due to condensation.
If you feel that the water repellency has decreased, you can restore water repellency by applying heat with a hairdryer or similar after washing. If the water repellency is still not restored, use a commercially available water repellent to take care of the water repellency.
■ Product care
This product is difficult to drain water that has entered between the outer and lining fabrics, and if a washing machine is used, the agitation during washing and rinsing can cause the fabric bonding points to be subjected to water pressure, which may cause the membrane to delaminate. To keep the product in good condition, always wash and rinse by hand. If the water does not run off after rinsing, the product can only be dehydrated in a washing machine on a short setting of 1 minute with the product turned inside out.
Use the washing machine only for dewatering; wash and rinse by hand.
Wash by hand in lukewarm water at a water temperature of around 30°C with a suitable amount of neutral detergent.
Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Partial washing of soiled areas using a sponge or similar in a detergent solution should be carried out.
Rinse thoroughly, as detergent residue can cause discolouration and damage water repellency.
For dehydration, turn the machine inside out and use the washing machine on a short setting of no more than 1 minute.
Do not use a dryer as it will hasten the deterioration of the bonded parts.
Hang-dry in the shade.
-Regularly apply heat with a hairdryer to revive the water repellent properties of the outer fabric.
Do not dry-clean as the adhesive will peel off.
Products containing Vaseline, insecticide or ethanol (e.g. hair cream, cosmetics, sunscreen, insect repellent) may stain the outer fabric and reduce its moisture permeability.
