〇Thoughts and Creativity
In our 2022 spring/summer collection, we released Judo Pants that used the pattern of authentic judo pants. However, we realized that using a drawstring for the waist adjustment—just like on real judo pants—made them a bit difficult to use. The new Judo Pants have been improved over the old model by replacing that feature with the same stretch cord and stopper found on other Ryo pants.We created the Judo Pants by adopting the pattern of authentic judo pants, reasoning that if they allow for such techniques, they must be incredibly easy to move in. Naturally, we switched the material from cotton to nylon, making them much thinner than actual judo pants, but we selected a twill-woven fabric to preserve that authentic feel. This is another item that truly embodies Ryo’s signature style of incorporating traditional Japanese design elements.

〇Mindfully
Made from a fabric that is neither too thick nor too thin, these pants are ideal for training from spring through early fall. Designed with practicality in mind, they feature a stretch drawstring at the waist and split pockets on both sides of the hips, but otherwise retain the classic construction of judo pants, with reinforced patches made from the same fabric at the back of the knees.The wide crotch gusset effortlessly accommodates steep climbs where your knees might nearly touch your chin, and the wide, boxy cut provides the unique breathability characteristic of wide-leg pants.

〇Styling
Because these pants are wide-legged and have a mid-length cut, they can surprisingly be worn in either a smaller or larger size. Please wear them in whatever size you prefer. There are loops on the inside of the hem, so you can thread a drawstring through them to cinch the waist. You can pair them with Kunai shorts, or tuck them into the Kunai shorts to create a baggy look around the knees—giving you a look that’s just like a Tengu.The silhouette, billowing in the wind, evokes the image of a solitary judo master, creating a distinctly Japanese look.

This twill-woven fabric features a subdued, matte finish and a soft texture that is neither too thick nor too thin, while offering the strength required for shingling. It provides moderate breathability and wind resistance, as well as water repellency.
