The Pertex Equilibrium fabric used in the Light 5-Pocket Shorts is an extremely thin and lightweight material.
Although the ripstop construction provides strength, rubbing against sharp objects such as rocks or branches can cause small holes to form, which may lead to the fabric tearing.
Please exercise extreme caution when traversing rocky ridges or sitting down on rocky terrain during breaks.

Made from Pertex Equilibrium fabric, which is lightweight and quick-drying, these pants keep you comfortable even in hot weather, while the five pockets—positioned so they don’t get in the way when you lift your legs—efficiently store your smartphone and maps.
They feel as if you're wearing nothing at all, so you can walk with ease no matter where you go.

Yamato Michi’s original design features five pockets that efficiently store all the essentials you need for hiking without hindering your movement.
In particular, the smartphone pocket on the side of the pants is positioned perfectly—it doesn’t jiggle when you run, and you won’t accidentally step on it when you sit down.
The large pocket, designed for hiking maps, can also hold a plastic bottle.

We used Pertex Equilibrium fabric, achieving a significant weight reduction—approximately half that of our 5-Pocket Shorts.
Without using polyurethane—a material commonly used for stretch fabrics but prone to deterioration over time—this fabric achieves a slight two-way stretch through pre-twisting of the yarn and an optimized weave design, ensuring it doesn’t hinder even vigorous movements like kicking.

Made from a thin, ultra-lightweight fabric, the Light 5-Pocket Shorts offer exceptional quick-drying performance and dry in no time, even when wet.
We've also incorporated mesh elastic into the waistband—an area that typically takes longer to dry—to further enhance quick-drying performance.
