■Thought and creation
Woollen wrap-around skirt that can be quickly worn on the approach to a sinogging or during hammock time. It won't melt and leave a hole in the fire when using a wood stove or accidentally getting too close to the fire. I could have added a waist strap and made it infinitely adjustable like the Tsuyuhalahi, but I opted for a thin snap button with tape for ease of use as a shawl. It can also be used as a smaller sized blanket for lounging in the hammock. The original Noyama, which we sold until a few years ago, was heavyweight at 635 g because it was made of shrunken wool, but the updated Noyama is about 40% lighter by changing the material to brushed wool. This is almost the same weight as the Agulaskart, so I wouldn't hesitate to take it out for sinogging.

You can slowly feel the natural warmth that only wool can provide. The nylon taffeta lining is smooth and windproof, so it is safe even on windy days.

■ dressing up
When wrapped around the waist, the wool side should be facing out so that it will not melt in a fire. When used as a shawl, the wool side should be facing out so that you can feel the warmth directly and are not bothered by light rain showers. When used as a blanket, the wool side can also be used as the reverse side.

■ Material features.
The outer fabric is made of domestically produced Bishu wool. The raised wool flannel material is soft to the touch and offers the natural warmth and high odour control that only wool can offer. It is also safe when exposed to fire sparks, as it does not melt like synthetic fibres, but only carbonises. Thanks to its high odour control, the smell of a bonfire disappears in a few days, so you can reduce the number of times you have to wash it, making it an environmentally friendly material.

The recycled nylon taffeta lining is water-repellent and moderately windproof, so it is almost impervious to wind and rain.

■Handling instructions.
This product may be hand washed. Please note that machine washing will cause shrinkage.
For more information, please check the quality label sewn onto the product.
Hand washing may seem like a hassle, but wool has excellent odour control and antibacterial properties, so it does not need to be washed after every use.
