I’ve long been fascinated by the practicality of skirts, and to tell you the truth, I’m such a skirt enthusiast that I’ve frequently experimented with designs that can be worn by anyone, regardless of gender, even before launching the “Ryo” line. When developing “Ryo,” I wanted to incorporate Japanese design elements—a core part of the brand’s concept—and that’s when I came up with the idea of blending a hakama with a skirt. While the result is quite distinctive, it evokes a distinctly Japanese aesthetic that anyone can recognize, and we’ve created a skirt design that’s unmistakably “Ryo.”

〇Mindfully
Although the wide pleats give it the appearance of a hakama, it is actually a skirt. This design allows for constant air circulation, and the use of highly breathable fabric ensures it stays cool to wear. The front and back pleats extend the hem width by approximately 60 cm, making it easy to navigate areas where you need to lift your legs or take wide strides.

〇Styling
Wearing this hakama skirt as you cross the ridge, with the wind blowing through it, you’ll look just like a samurai. Enjoy this unique silhouette that only Ryo can offer. If the wind is strong and the flapping of the hem bothers you, fasten the snap buttons at the front and back to keep it in place. If you feel restricted in your leg movements on steep slopes, simply roll up the hem to make it easier to move.

〇Features of the Material
Although it is made of nylon, this fabric has a natural feel and offers excellent breathability. In addition, it provides moderate wind resistance, water repellency, and quick-drying properties.

Please be careful, as you may accidentally step on the hem of the pants depending on the situation, such as on steep slopes. Also, if you wear them barefoot, please take precautions to avoid being bitten by gnats or mosquitoes.
