Petzl Grigri

■Excerpt from the manufacturer’s description
A belay device with a braking assist function compatible with single ropes of a wide range of diameters (8.5–11 mm)

The “Grigri” is a belay device with a brake assist function designed for experienced climbers for use in both the gym and on the rock.
It is compact and lightweight, and can be used with single ropes ranging from 8.5 to 11 mm in diameter.
Its brake-assist function provides excellent maneuverability during belaying, while hanging from the rope, or when stopping a fall.
The mechanism, which releases the cam lock via the handle, allows for excellent control during rappelling.

• A belay device with a brake assist function that can be used with single ropes of a wide range of diameters, both in the gym and on the rock face:
・The methods for feeding out rope and arresting a fall are the same as standard belaying techniques (never let go of the end of the rope)
・The brake assist function works when the climber falls: the device rotates, and the cam clamps the rope between itself and the body of the device to stop the fall. Since the brake function is activated by gripping the end of the rope, never let go of the end of the rope
・Compatible with 8.5–11 mm single ropes; optimal performance is achieved with ropes between 8.9 and 10.5 mm in diameter
・Diagrams showing how to set the rope are engraved on both the inside and outside of the device

○ Provides a high level of comfort during descent:
・The ergonomically designed handle allows you to easily unlock the device and descend
・Easy control of rope flow ensures a smooth and comfortable descent

○ Designed for experienced belayers:
・Simple operation for both lead and top-rope belaying
・Well-balanced design: lightweight (175 g), compact, and highly durable

■ Weight: 175 g
■ Compatible Rope Diameter: Single ropes with a diameter of 8.5–11 mm
■ Materials: Aluminum (side plates), stainless steel (cams, friction plates), reinforced nylon (handle)
■Certifications: CE EN 15151-1, UIAA
