With the soft feel unique to 100% merino wool, powerful natural odor-neutralizing properties that keep it fresh even after days of wear, and temperature- and humidity-regulating features that keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, this garment ensures your comfort at all times. Plus, it’s machine-dryable (up to 60°C), so be sure to pack it for your next long trip.

We have revised our dyeing method from "yarn dyeing"—where the yarn is dyed before weaving—to "piece dyeing," where the fabric is dyed after it has been woven.

■Features and Design
〇The Positioning of 100% Light Merino
Although it dries more slowly than synthetic base layers, it minimizes the cooling effect caused by the latent heat of evaporation from sweat, thereby reducing the risk of hypothermia due to moisture. While it prioritizes moisture-wicking and thermal insulation over quick-drying and cooling properties, the fabric is thin and highly breathable, making it a great choice for active wear during summer mountain hikes.

Wool has the ability to maintain a consistent temperature inside clothing, keeping you comfortable even in conditions with extreme temperature fluctuations.
"Put on the shell"
Base layers made of synthetic fibers with low moisture-wicking properties tend to trap moisture and cause discomfort when worn under a shell, as they cannot dry quickly enough. However, 100% Light Merino, with its high moisture-wicking properties, effectively regulates humidity inside the garment, so you’re less likely to feel stuffy even when wearing a shell to protect against wind and rain.
"Long operating time"
Even when treated with antibacterial and odor-resistant finishes, synthetic fabrics tend to develop an unpleasant odor just a few hours after sweating, and many people are reluctant to wear them the next day even after they’ve dried. Wool, on the other hand, has extremely powerful natural odor-neutralizing properties; even after heavy sweating, the odor virtually disappears once the fabric dries, making it relatively comfortable to wear the next day and beyond.

○ Powerful natural deodorizing properties
Merino wool is said to "stay odor-free even after wearing it for a week," and it offers significantly superior odor-neutralizing properties compared to synthetic fibers treated with deodorizing agents.
While much remains unknown about the mechanism behind this odor-neutralizing effect, one theory suggests that wool has an extremely high capacity to absorb odor-causing compounds, trapping them within its fibers at levels undetectable to the human sense of smell.

• Cool in summer and warm in winter, with natural humidity-regulating properties
Merino wool, often referred to as "nature's air conditioner," regulates the temperature and humidity inside your clothing to ensure a comfortable fit.
This dual property—keeping you cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather—is due to two factors: first, the natural crimp in the wool fibers, known as “crimp,” creates air pockets within the fabric, ensuring high breathability and moisture permeability; and second, the cortex—the outer layer of the fiber—absorbs moisture in response to the humidity of the surrounding air, absorbing more moisture as humidity increases.
The air pockets created by the "crimp" act as loft, retaining heat in the same way as down or synthetic fiber fill, and provide superior insulation compared to cotton or synthetic fibers of the same weight.

• Stays warm even when wet, helping to prevent hypothermia
When wool gets wet, it generates "absorption heat." Because of its low thermal conductivity, it does not easily draw heat away from the body. Even when wet, the fibers retain their elasticity and do not collapse, allowing them to trap air between the fibers and maintain their insulating properties. Furthermore, wool absorbs moisture into the fibers, wicking it away from the skin to keep you feeling dry.

While many merino wool products shrink or lose their shape when tumble-dried, Yama to Michi’s proprietary 100% merino wool offers dimensional stability that allows it to be tumble-dried at low temperatures (up to 60°C). Since you can dry it in a tumble dryer at hotels or laundromats while traveling, you can pack lighter for long-distance hikes and trips.

■Precautions for Use
○ About dye transfer
Please note that this product may cause color transfer if it rubs against white or light-colored shirts that are wet from sweat or rain.

○ About Using the Dryer
You may use the dryer on a low-temperature cycle (maximum 60°C). However, please avoid using this setting frequently, as it can cause the fabric to pill or shed fibers. If the fabric dries while folded or wrinkled, the wrinkles will set once the garment cools. Therefore, do not use a laundry net; instead, dry the item on its own or in a machine with ample space. Remove the item promptly after drying.

*Note: Using a dryer may cause the garment to shrink by 1–2 cm in length, but this can be corrected by washing and line-drying it again.

■Product Care
・Merino wool can become prone to moth damage if body oils build up. Please wash it regularly.
・When storing the product, please use moth repellents and take measures to keep it in an airtight container to prevent insect infestation.
・Yama to Michi’s 100% merino wool fabric is resistant to shrinkage, so it can be washed in a washing machine on a gentle cycle—such as the “delicate cycle”—which uses a gentle water flow to wash delicate garments.
・Regular detergents remove too much of the natural oils found in wool, which can cause the dye to run and lead to color fading. When washing, please use a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics.
・Because the fibers are short, pilling and fuzz may occur; however, as you wash the item, some of the fuzz will shed, and pilling will become less likely.

When the customer is deemed to have used the product by our company.
If the product has been repaired, washed or cleaned.
Loss or damage to accessories (product tag, warranty card, bag, box, etc.)
