Product description
Static yak neck warmer (unisex)

■Manufacturer's description quoted.
Wear the winter coats of yaks living in the highlands.
Extremely comfortable and enveloping gentle warmth.
In the course of using natural materials for outdoor clothing, we found in yak a different splendour from wool.
Natural yak wool, which is highly scarce and not mass-produced like wool.
STATIC chose Tibetan products from among them.

The hair of yaks living in more mountainous areas would match our outdoor orientation.
Such an intuitive encounter resulted in a lightweight and functional product.
Unlike sheep, which have undergone many breed changes since the Industrial Revolution, yaks are a primitive bovine animal of Tibetan origin.
It is found year-round in Tibet, Nepal and other alpine steppe areas at altitudes of 3,000 m to 6,000 m and is active on the lower edge of the snow line in winter. The yak is considered an excellent cold-tolerant species. To survive the long winter, its laying hair grows as winter approaches and is shed in the spring.

This is then picked up and washed by nomads to become a high-quality raw material. These days, it is carefully combed by hand in the same way as cashmere. Unlike sheep, this method does not require the whole body to be clipped and there is no need for mulesing (*), so it is also ethically sound.

Yak lambing wool can be collected every year, but only about 100g-300g can be obtained from one adult yak. Wool weighs around 4 kg, so in comparison it is a very rare hair. The Tibetan yak wool used by STATIC is harvested at a rate of 100 g from each animal. We do not take an unreasonably large amount and limit the amount taken so as not to stress the yaks.
*Mulesing is the cutting of the skin and flesh of the pubic region of a lamb to prevent maggot infestation.

■ Product features.
Made of yak hair from yaks living at altitudes of more than 4000 m
Yak hair is very fine, with a diameter of less than 20 microns and a length of about 3.5-4.5 cm. Compared to wool, there are no scales on the surface of the hair that cause shrinkage and it is basically not shrink-proofed
About 30% higher warmth retention than wool, almost as high as cashmere.
Breathability is approximately 30% higher than that of cashmere, making it less stuffy.
Very soft and gentle to the touch and comfortable to wear.
. High elasticity and resistance to wrinkling.

■Care methods and precautions.
Enjoy your knitwear for many years to come with the correct care instructions.
Dry cleaning is recommended.
Please rest the garment after wearing it for one day, as prolonged wear can cause it to lose its shape.
After wearing, brush off any dust or debris from the surface with a soft brush and hang dry in the shade in a well-ventilated place. (Dry the garment as flat as possible, as hanging it for long periods of time can cause it to lose its shape).
In the off-season, fold and store in a well-ventilated area with mothballs.
Due to the soft nature of the fibres, the hair may adhere to other clothing due to abrasion during use.
Fluff pilling may occur due to wear during use and cleaning. If pilling occurs, please remove them carefully one by one without pulling to avoid cutting the fabric.
Please take care not to catch ornaments (watches, buttons, fasteners) in the knitted fabric of the product when wearing it.
If the thread gets caught and pops out, do not cut it, but use a thin stick or similar to get the thread inside the product (we recommend using a fraying repair needle).
There is no problem in general wearing together, but please note that if you combine it with a blanket or something with a hard and firm pile, the pile will tangle and pull each other, which may cause the yak fibres to fall out.
In the off-season, fold and store in a well-ventilated place with mothballs.

■Environmental
... combing and collecting yak hairs before they drop to the ground.
... combing and collecting yak hairs before they drop to the ground.
The wool is not treated with chlorine resin, which is a common practice for wool, so there is no emission of chlorinated organic compounds and no impact on the environment.
It is also highly biodegradable, as it does not have the resin coating of the common shrink-proofing process.
Mocha and Natural (YAK Liner) are not dyed, as the colour of the yak hair is used as it is. This has many advantages, such as CO2 emissions during dyeing, no use of chemical dyes and no use of water. However, STATIC also offers dyed colour variations for people to enjoy the colour.
Non-mulesing: The wool is naturally shedding and does not need to be mulesed like sheep, making it gentle on the animals.
Labels are also highly eco-friendly.
Washing tag: 100% cotton lawn.
Brand tag: 50% recycled polyester minimum.
