Rain Skirt

I originally designed the hakama skirt to make working in warm weather more comfortable, but as I used it, I realized it’s also very handy on rainy days.
That’s when I thought, “Why not just make it out of rainwear fabric?”—and that’s how the Ameno Skirt was born.

I’d been feeling all sorts of frustrations with my rain pants—they were hard to move in and made me feel hot and stuffy—so I thought this would finally free me from that stress.
Of course, this is intended for use in mountains below the tree line. Enjoy weathering the rain in this rain skirt, which incorporates the traditional Japanese design aesthetic that defines the "Shinogi" concept.

The lightweight fabric flutters gently in the breeze for a comfortable, stress-free feel, and the 3/4-length design provides ample coverage below the knee to keep you dry in the rain.
Exercising keeps the air inside the skirt constantly circulating, so it never gets stuffy and remains very comfortable.
The pleats at the front and back expand more than they appear, allowing you to navigate steep, treacherous slopes and rocky riverbeds with ease. The waterproof zippers on both sides of the waist feature through-pockets without liners, which not only provide ventilation but also allow convenient access to the pockets of the pants worn underneath.
While primarily designed as a rain shell, this skirt stays dry and breathable, making it comfortable to wear for everyday activities even on days when it’s not raining.
