When you take off your shell and try to put on a midlayer while resting or taking a break in the snowy mountains, your body gets cold in the blink of an eye.
So, what should we do?
The TETON BROS. way is to wear your shell jacket and layer a winter jacket over it.
This insulation jacket, filled with synthetic fiber batting, is designed for just such situations.
I bought it one size larger so I can layer it over a shell.
The cuffs can be opened with a zipper, so you can put it on easily even while wearing gloves.
The filling combines “PrimaLoft Thermo Plume”—which has a down-like texture—with aerogel, which offers excellent thermal insulation.
It offers a whole new level of warmth.
The outer fabric is made of HPPE (High-Performance Polyethylene) ripstop, which enhances durability.
The lining is made of 10-denier Cordura and is a highly visible orange color that serves as a marker in emergencies.
Since it is sometimes worn over a wet shell, both sides have been treated with a water-repellent finish.
This TETON BROS. classic is a must-have that staff and guides always pack in their backpacks.

A hood that covers the head.
If you cinch the opening with the drawstring, you can prevent wind from blowing in even when wearing it over your shell.

・Cuff Construction
Cuffs featuring a unique design that incorporates a “half-lock zipper.”
You can put it on and take it off quickly even while wearing gloves, and it securely fastens the cuff regardless of glove size.

・Outer pocket
The outer pocket is designed to hold a large volume.
You can pack them in your gear that you'll want to use right away, such as ski skins.

・Front zipper
The front zipper features a double-slider design, making it compatible with climbing harnesses.
If you store it in your backpack while leaving it open, you can take it out and put it on right away.
