Use of Recycled Materials
Octa fabric is composed of two types of fibers: polyester wool-like fibers and polyester hollow octopus-leg-shaped fibers.
We have replaced 53.6% of the wool yarn with recycled polyester (ECOPET) to reduce our environmental impact.
46.4% consists of standard polyester hollow octopus-leg yarn.
By utilizing this recycled material—recycled polyester—instead of virgin polyester OctaCPCP, CO₂* emissions during fabric production are reduced by 23%. (*Calculated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. CO₂ emissions from raw materials (polymers) through to fabric shipment.)

What is OctaCPCP?
OctaCPCP is a mesh fleece fabric that integrates hollow polyester brushed fibers with an irregular cross-section—which serve as thermal insulation—into the outer mesh layer.
This polyester fabric is characterized by its lightness, warmth, and excellent heat dissipation. Although it is typically used as a lining, STATIC has adopted it as a standalone fleece.

■Material Characteristics
・Lightweight feel: About half the weight of polyester fibers of the same diameter
・Moisture-wicking and quick-drying: Feels about half as heavy as polyester fibers of the same diameter
・Heat insulation: The dead air trapped within the space created by the hollow sections and eight protrusions provides heat insulation.

■Environmental Factors
・Starting in Fall/Winter 2023, we became the first in the industry to use 53% recycled materials.
・Recycling reduces CO2 emissions during fabric production by 23% compared to OctaCPCP made from virgin polyester.
・We use fabric produced at a factory in Japan that has received OEKO-TEX certification (*)
・In the fabric dyeing process, biomass (plant-based) is used instead of petroleum to reduce CO2 emissions.
・Cutting scraps generated during the manufacturing process are recycled into new fabric rather than being incinerated.
・Brand, Size Tag, and Care Label: 100% recycled polyester made from plastic bottles
