The new Pertex Shield Air material is significantly lighter than conventional breathable waterproof breathable shells, and its overwhelming breathability has reached a level where they can now be considered 'fully waterproof windpants'.
Weighing only 80 g, they are the world's lightest rain trousers with a 3-layer nanofibre membrane.
The simple design, which is slightly slender and easy to move in, and the lightweight comfort, combined with its nudity, make you want to actively use it even in sunny weather.
From the 2023 model year, the addition of a smartphone pocket has made it more convenient.

■Precautions for use.
This product is an ultralight waterproof shell made of ultra-thin waterproof breathable fabric.
Please take care to avoid damage or tearing due to rock scrapes, snagging of trees, etc.
The shell is designed to be comfortable to wear when operating in relatively warm conditions and provides less warmth than a typical heavy waterproof shell or winter hardshell. Please take care when using the product in extreme conditions, for example, wear merino wool as an inner layer when stormy weather conditions are expected.
To maximise waterproof breathability, care is required after wearing.
The membrane, the water-repellent finish on the surface of the fabric and the inner layer of the fabric each lose their performance when dirt, sweat or sebum adheres to them.
Wash and dry frequently according to the washing instructions and keep clean.
If the water repellent function of the fabric surface is lost, the moisture permeability will also be lost. If the water-repellent function is reduced, apply heat to the fabric to restore its water-repellent properties, either by low-temperature drying in a dryer or by applying a hairdryer to the fabric.
However, repeated washing will cause the initial water repellent to wear off and heat will not restore water repellency.
If this is the case, use a commercially available water repellent and care for it regularly.
Due to the extremely lightweight and thin porous material, products containing Vaseline, insecticide or ethanol (e.g. hair cream, cosmetics, sunscreen, insect repellents) may adhere to the fabric, causing staining and reducing the moisture permeability function.
■ Product care
Washing should be carried out at a water temperature of 30°C or less on a low-flow course.
Use a special detergent for rainwear or a neutral detergent that is bleach-, softener- and fluoro bleach-free.
Washing should be carried out alone or in a net.
For heavy soiling, apply a detergent diluted with water and wash the area with a soft sponge. Do not rub the surface joints or the seam tape on the reverse side.
-Regularly dry it in a dryer on a low temperature setting (maximum 60°C) to restore its water repellent properties.
Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Ironing should be done at low temperature, without steam.
Do not dry clean.
Products containing Vaseline, insecticide or ethanol (e.g. hair creams, cosmetics, sunscreens, insect repellents) may adhere to the fabric, causing staining and reducing the moisture permeability function.
