Wind shell made of 100% recycled nylon with low CO2 emissions
This year, we have returned to our roots and used 100% recycled nylon fabric. The crimp yarn is used to produce stretch without polyurethane, and the fabric does not sag due to water retention, resulting in a crisp, fresh finish. The fabric also inherits the good feel on the skin due to the unevenness on the inside, which was a feature of the recycled nylon and cupra blend fabric used last year.
Continued domestic production of both yarn and fabric.
In the first generation model, it was announced that CO2 emissions during production were 75% lower than virgin nylon yarn, but it is not known exactly for this new fabric (there are no published values from the manufacturer). However, the mechanism of spinning nylon yarn from pre-consumer nylon cotton waste is the same, so we believe that CO2 emissions have been significantly reduced.
Importance of adopting recycled materials.
In the 'life of a garment', from the production of yarn for clothing to disposal after the garment has been worn, the highest CO2 emissions are in the process of raw material production.
