Product description
Statik Yak Breeze Pullover

■Manufacturer's description quoted.
Hybrid yarns evolved for 0 mountain
Yak wool wrapped around nylon yarn for improved durability while retaining the warmth and feel of yak wool.
The yarn has been strengthened, allowing the weave to be changed to a border mesh, which dramatically improves breathability.

A more mountain-oriented, user-friendly YAK BREEZE was created.
The fabric thickness is slightly thinner than YAK PULLOVER made of 100% yak wool.
Light hiking up, just right with moderate warmth and breathability, and good as warm clothing at tent sites.
It is also recommended to put on the hood and crawl straight into the shrug to sleep warm and comfortable.

〇YAK WOOL
Unlike sheep, which have undergone many breed changes since the Industrial Revolution, yaks are a primitive bovine animal of Tibetan origin.
It is found year-round in alpine meadow areas at altitudes of 3,000 m to 6,000 m in Tibet, Nepal and elsewhere, and is active on the lower edge of the snowline in winter.
Yak is considered an excellent cold-tolerant species.
The hair grows as winter approaches for the long winter and falls out in spring.

This is then picked up by nomads and cleaned to produce a high-quality raw material.
These days, like cashmere, it is carefully combed out by hand.
This method is also ethical because, unlike sheep, the whole body is not clipped and there is no need for mulesing (*).

Yak litter can be collected annually, but only about 100g-300g can be taken from one adult yak.
Wool weighs around 4 kg, which makes it very rare in comparison.
The Tibetan yak hair used by STATIC is collected from each animal, with a maximum of 100 g of hair from each animal.
We do not take an unreasonably large number of yaks and limit the amount taken to avoid stress on the yaks.
*Mulesing is the cutting of the skin and flesh of the pubic region of a lamb to prevent maggot infestation.

■PRODUCT FEATURE
Hybrid fibres of synthetic fibres and yak wool.
Border weave for high air permeability.
...well-fitting balaclava hood.
It can also be used as a simple glove because it has thumbholes.
Drop tail that prevents the back from showing when bending down.
Made of yak hair from yaks living at altitudes of more than 4000 m
Yak hair is very fine, with a diameter of less than 20 microns and a length of 3.5-4.5 cm. Compared to wool, there are no scales on the surface of the hair that cause shrinkage and it is basically not shrink-proofed
About 30% higher warmth retention than wool, almost as high as cashmere.
Breathability is approximately 30% higher than that of cashmere, making it less stuffy.
Very soft and gentle to the touch and comfortable to wear.
. High elasticity and resistance to wrinkling.

■Tips
A hole is provided for a drawcord to be threaded through for a better fit at the hood opening. You can customise it yourself at your own risk.
*Yak is a fibre that is susceptible to sloughing, so please choose the softest possible cords to match.
*Pulling the cord outwards to the left or right may tear the hole. Please take care.

■PRODUCT CARE
Please enjoy your knitwear by caring for it correctly for many years to come.
Dry cleaning is recommended.
Let the garment rest after wearing it for a day, as prolonged wear can cause it to lose its shape.
After wearing, brush off surface dust and debris with a soft brush to keep the fur in line and dry in the shade in a well-ventilated place. (Hang the garment flat as much as possible, as prolonged hanging can cause it to lose its shape).
In the off-season, fold and store in a well-ventilated area with mothballs.

■SUSTAINABILITY
... combing and collecting yak hairs before they drop to the ground.
The wool is not treated with chlorine resin, which is a common practice for wool, so there is no emission of chlorinated organic compounds and no impact on the environment.
It is also highly biodegradable, as it does not have the resin coating of the common shrink-proofing process.
Undyed colours are not dyed, making use of the colour of the yak's hair as it is. This has significant advantages, such as CO2 emissions during dyeing, no use of chemical dyes and no use of water.
Non-mulesing: The wool is naturally shedding and does not need to be mulesed like sheep, making it gentle on the animals.
Labels are also highly eco-friendly.

The specifications (logo position, colour, pattern position, etc.) may differ slightly from those of this product as the manufacturer's images are used.
