OctaCPCP used as a fleece
The outdoor clothing and active insulation category has expanded rapidly in recent years.
Mainly foreign brands were the first to develop products.
One such active insulation padding material was TEIJIN OctaCPCP, which was lightweight and had a high thermal insulation capacity.

STATIC has chosen to use OctaCPCP, normally a nylon lining material, as a single fabric.
This is because the brand's products, which are developed in high altitude and dry climates, are heavy because OctaCPCP is packed in a shell material, which is difficult to layer in Japan, where it is often carried as warm clothing.

Due to its special mesh construction, it is overwhelmingly lighter than fleeces weighing around 300g, which are generally considered to be thinner, and has a very high warmth to weight ratio and excellent portability, making it ideal for all seasons.

Ultralight fleece weighing 110 g (2 carabiners).
Thanks to the mesh structure, the ventilation is high and there is little or no heat build-up.
This means that they are less likely to get stuffy while worn during action, reducing the number of times they need to be put on and taken off, and making mountain trips smoother.
Also, when out on the ridge line, when it is windy or during breaks, a windshell or rainwear can be worn over the top to ensure warmth at once.
Layering can also be recommended for mountain trips such as repeated stop-and-go trips.

The Adrift Crew is a simple fleece that omits 'nice to have' features such as hoods and central fastenings.
Only the minimum necessary functions have been retained and the weight reduced.
The crew neck is easy to layer and matches well in the mountains and in town.

What is OctaCPCP?
OctaCPCP, a mesh fleece material with a mesh surface and deformed cross-section hollow polyester brushed fibres integrated into the mesh material on the front which serves as thermal insulation.
A polyester fabric characterised by its lightness, warmth and good heat release. Normally used as a lining, STATIC has adopted it as a stand-alone fleece.

Sweat-absorbing and quick-drying properties: one-half the weight of polyester fibres of the same diameter.
Thermal barrier: the dead air contained in the space between the hollow and the eight protrusions provides a thermal barrier effect.

Minimal fleece weighing only 110 g, with no zippers, hoods or other useless items.
Lightweight and highly breathable due to the mesh fabric, yet with high warmth retention.
Less steamy when worn during action, reducing the number of times it has to be put on and taken off.
Lightweight and compact, it is useful not only in spring, autumn and winter, but also as spare warm clothing for summer mountain traverses.

■Care methods and precautions.
Fabric softener and bleach cannot be used.
Hand wash or put in a laundry net and turn in fashionable washing or hand wash mode.
