At STATIC, we suggest using natural materials for layers that come into contact with the skin, avoiding the use of petroleum-based fibers wherever possible.
Merino wool keeps you warm in the winter and releases heat in the summer.
For outdoor use, it is a highly functional fiber that not only has excellent heat retention, but also has moisture-regulating properties, odor resistance, and is soft to the touch.
The new GRID series uses thick wool with an uneven grid structure to create areas for insulation and moisture regulation as well as areas for heat to escape, combining the functionality required for mountain climbing.
By allowing heat to escape even when you are active, it overcomes the weaknesses of 100% wool and provides better heat retention than synthetic blends.
The grid-like fabric is a very unusual structure made possible by the high technology of the Italian company REDA. The fabric weight is 270g/m2, and it is recommended as a base layer in winter or as a single layer in good weather in autumn and spring. The wool's water repellency is also highly maintained, so it is fully functional on mountain trips where there is a possibility of getting slightly wet, such as snowy mountains or streams at the beginning of the season.
*Since there will be vertical shrinkage during the initial wash, the finished dimensions are made longer.
