A new size has appeared in the high-spec backpack using Dyneema Composite Fabric
The downsized ULTRA20 of the popular ULTRA35 has appeared.
The ULTRA backpack was developed together with athlete mountain guides.
Dyneema is used for the main body, and it is fully seam taped.
It is waterproof, durable, and ultra-lightweight.
The ULTRA20 can be lightened from 550g to 375g by removing accessories, making it adaptable to various mountain climbing styles.
Unlike a typical top lid which connects at the back side (shoulder harness root side), the ULTRA20 is installed by extending the main body fabric from the front side (ice axe holder side).
This prevents the top lid from hitting the back of the head and restricting head movement during climbing, maintaining perfect mobility even during the most technical tasks.
Also, it allows easy access to the main body when placing the backpack on the ground.
The body uses a special technology combining Dyneema and polyester (150D), resulting in excellent abrasion resistance and unprecedented waterproofness.
The base of the ULTRA20 uses a material specially developed by Samaya engineers. The directly woven Dyneema 300D fiber offers excellent abrasion and tear resistance.
※ This item has seam tape applied to all sewing lines to achieve high waterproofness.
However, due to the backpack's structure and fabric stiffness, it is generally difficult to seam as neatly as rainwear or tents, so complete waterproofness is not claimed.
Also, interference with gear may damage the seam tape, causing a decrease in waterproofness.
