A new size is now available for this high-spec backpack made from Dyneema composite fabric.
Introducing the ULTRA20, a downsized version of the popular ULTRA35.
The ULTRA backpack was developed in collaboration with mountain guide athletes.
Dyneema is used for the main body and it is fully seam-taped.
It is waterproof, durable and extremely lightweight.
By removing the accessories, the ULTRA20 can be made lighter, from 550g to 375g, making it suitable for a variety of mountain climbing styles.
While a typical top lid is connected at the back side (the side where the shoulder harness attaches), the ULTRA20 is installed by stretching the main fabric from the front side (the side where the ice axe holder is located).
This means that the top lid does not hit the back of your head and restrict head movement, for example when climbing, ensuring perfect mobility even during the most technical tasks.
It also allows easy access to the inside of the backpack when you place it on the ground.
The body is made with a special technology that combines Dyneema and Polyester (150D), resulting in excellent abrasion resistance and unprecedented waterproofing.
The base of the ULTRA20 is made from a material specially developed by Samaya engineers: the direct woven Dyneema 300D fibre is highly abrasion and tear resistant.
*This item has seam tape applied to all stitching lines to ensure high water resistance.
However, due to the structure of the backpack and the hardness of the fabric, it is generally difficult to sew seams neatly like rain gear or tents, so we do not advertise that the backpack is completely waterproof.
In addition, the seam tape may be damaged due to interference with gear, resulting in a decrease in waterproofness.
