This is a hybrid active insulation that uses three materials with different functionality mapped in the right places.
The outer material is a lightweight, breathable 20 denier stretch recycled nylon that blocks out cold wind.
The core areas you don't want to get cold (chest, neck, and shoulders) are insulated with the heat-retaining PrimaLoft Gold Active+, while the abdomen, back, and outside of the sleeves, which are prone to getting sweaty, are padded with breathable Polartec Alpha Direct 90 to release excess heat. The hood, waist, underarms, side panels, and inside of the sleeves are all made of Polartec Power Grid, which has excellent stretchability and sweat absorption/quick-drying properties.
It can be worn as a comfortable mid-layer to keep you warm while you're on the move during the harsh winter months, or as an outer layer when hiking in the backcountry or during the spring season.
