Fire Dragon Fire Dragon Solid Fuel, set of 12.
■Manufacturer's description quoted.
Solid fuels of plant origin
It is made from discarded substandard vegetables and is safe for the human body and the environment.
FIREDRAGON is a solid fuel with almost odourless combustion gases, made from solidified plant-derived ethanol from discarded vegetables and grains.
In Europe, the toxicity of conventional solid fuel component combustion gases was pointed out and the development of non-toxic and non-hazardous solid fuels was initiated.
BCB Internaional, a developer of survival equipment for the military, commissioned by the military, in collaboration with a Welsh university, has successfully extracted ethanol from discarded substandard vegetables and grain (mainly maize) that would otherwise go to waste, to produce solid fuel.
It is now widely used by the armed forces of many countries, including the British Army.
It has since spread to camping and BBQ applications, and is also widely used for indoor cooking demonstrations, as it is safe to use from a health perspective.
Easier-to-use 14g block.
A new 14 g block is available, about half the size of the previous 27 g block.
Each 14 g block has a burn time of 5 minutes.
In the past, 27g blocks could be cut and used as required, leaving a half-full surplus of fuel, but the new 14g blocks can be used without waste.
It will be just the right size to boil water for one cup of coffee.
