■ Thoughts and Creativity
I wanted to make an artistic hammock.
There was no compromise there.

Before I knew it, 10 years had passed since I became fascinated with hammocks through shinoguing.
During that time, I tried out several hammocks with different characteristics, and experienced the pros and cons of updating them, and I began to get a clear idea of ​​what kind of hammock I needed for shinogging.
Hoping to create the ideal hammock, I selected several carefully selected materials as candidates, but when I actually tried to make the hammock, I was not satisfied with the sleeping comfort.
Honestly, this was an unexpected development.
There are materials that can improve the comfort to a certain extent, but they are similar to other hammocks, so there is no point in making them at Ryo.
However, due to a fortuitous event during the prototyping stage, we were able to dramatically improve the sleeping comfort and usability of the mattress.
He came down.
This is truly the result of trial and error, and is a realm that could never be reached by simply "deciding on the fabric and size, sewing it together, and then calling it a day."

The best part of Sinogging is staying overnight. I slept in a hammock under different moons: new moon, crescent moon, and full moon.
The name Gekkabijin (Moonflower) embodies this romanticism of Ryo.

■ Comfort and ease of use
Polyester material generally has little stretch, so hammocks made from it can be stiff and have no play in them, making for a comfortable sleeping experience.
In contrast, Gekkabijin uses a slightly stretchy nylon material, which gives the entire hammock surface a floating sensation similar to that of air suspension.
I guess you could say it feels like it stretches to fit your body...
Furthermore, while the long edges of a typical hammock tend to rise up when you put your weight on it, this doesn't happen with the Gekkabijin, so you can sleep in a flatter position and the long edges don't dig into the backs of your knees when you sit down.
And I think this is a by-product of the stretchiness of the fabric, but when you sit down the back rises a little, creating just the right amount of backrest.
The double-woven hammock surface has a finely textured surface that makes it non-slip, and it is also highly breathable and sweat-absorbent, so it doesn't get stuffy.
This ensures comfort during humid seasons or when you go to bed covered in sweat.
The size of 240cm in length and 140cm in width is large enough for people up to about 180cm tall to sleep comfortably.
There are small pockets on both sides of the hammock so you can use the pockets no matter which direction you are lying down or sitting in. The pockets are also offset from the center so you can use it comfortably while wearing an agra skirt or hakama skirt.

■ Mastering the use
The hammock will sink when you put your weight on it, so it's important to hang it a little higher.
Based on Ryo's aesthetics, the Night Beauty does not come with a storage bag.
That's because larger fabric items like tarps and hammocks will fit snugly into the gaps in your backpack at the end of packing.
This allows the backpack to maintain its original shape and makes it easier to balance the load.

We use Asahi Kasei's ECOSENSOR fabric, which is made from recycled materials.
The double-weave ripstop nylon has a matte, subdued texture and a moderate feel, yet is light and pleasant to the touch. It has a high breathability of 16.6 cm3/cm2/s and is sweat-absorbent, reducing stuffiness.
