Arata took on the challenge of balancing these conflicting demands in a new dimension that is different from existing tents.

Early on in the development process we calculated the weight of materials and it quickly became apparent that we needed to use tent poles that prioritised lightweight over strength.
I had a hunch that adopting lighter tent poles while still maintaining the strength required for a mountain tent would be a question that would not be easily answered.

Using their experience as engineers and thinking carefully, the answer they arrived at was a truss structure that makes use of a unique sleeve hub structure and guy lines.
The Sleeve Hub is an innovative structure that combines the strength advantages of both the sleeve type and the hanging type, which traditional tents have had to choose between.
In addition, by combining it with a truss structure using guy lines, the strength of the tent can be increased according to the weather.

The AX-79 has a width of 210cm, making it one of the longest single-person mountain tents from a Japanese brand.
The maximum interior height is 98cm.
The height is comfortable even for people over 180cm tall.
The depth has been kept to 80cm to make it lightweight.
When we decided to make the depth 80cm, one of our concerns was where to place our backpacks.
This problem has been solved by providing a unique rear compartment that can hold backpacks over 70L.

Despite its outstanding performance and livability, it is lightweight, weighing just 915g.
We have achieved one of the lightest weights in its class for a single-person mountain tent.
(Equipped weight is 1060g, but the weight of the included ground sheet (74g) is not included in the equipped weight)
