Product description
Appalachian Gear Company All Paca Poncho

■Manufacturer's description quoted.
The poncho has been considered a highly functional and practical garment for centuries, with its origins dating back to the Andes and Patagonia regions of South America.
At AppGearCo, we love products that are both practical and functional - useful in a wide range of climates and situations.
The classic poncho is one such product. (As with all All-Paca products from the Appalachian Gear Company) it is a versatile, easy to put on and take off, breathable and highly effective layer.
The new All-Paca poncho is made from 100% baby alpaca fleece with no added synthetic fibres.
This highly packable item has natural temperature regulation, so it is warm when cold, not too hot on sunny days, and insulates when wet.

Ponchos are ideal for wearing under rain ponchos for extra warmth, using as an outer layer or stuffing into sleeping bags for extra insulation.
Designed with a unisex hood, the All-Paca poncho is a sustainable, high-performance alternative to synthetics that anyone can take on the trail and beyond.

Weight: 250gsm
Overall garment weight: 20-22 oz (approx 566-623 g)
Appalachian Gear Company's lightweight ponchos are made from 100% alpaca yarn using a unique process.

*Weights may vary due to differences in natural fibres.
*The slight variation in the weight of the poncho is due to the natural variability of the alpaca fibres.

■Care.
*Note: Alpaca hair is susceptible to insect damage and should be stored away from contact with insects.

Alpacas are naturally fresh, so there is no need to wash this poncho, but don't worry if you spill spaghetti on it.
Wash alone on a light cycle using a liquid detergent in cold water. (Do not use strong powder detergents, bleach or 'oxygen' cleaners).
Then tumble dry alone on a low temperature setting for 10-12 minutes.

Fluffing can also be done with a dryer ball.
In some cases, simply rolling the poncho on low with a dryer ball for 10-12 minutes is enough to make it fluffy enough without washing.
Do not wash or machine dry ponchos with other clothing, especially those with buttons or zips, as the edges of the poncho are seamed and may catch on clothing fittings.

When garments are received, they may be slightly flattened or stiff due to shipping or folding.
If this is the case, place the poncho in the dryer (i.e. fluff cycle) without heat, using three or four wool dryer balls, and rotate it for about 15 minutes. This will cause the poncho to fluff up.

○ If you are backpacking or travelling and need to wash this poncho for any reason and cannot get hold of regular detergent
-Backpacking: rinse with river water and allow to dry naturally. Do not use detergents and follow the principle of leaving no traces.
When travelling: use shampoo, neutral liquid dish/hand detergent (1-2 drops), rinse in sink, wring out and hang dry or place on towel to dry.

Please understand that the colour, density and position of the pattern may differ from the colour of the actual product.
