The OLYMPUS series is characterised by cushioning, grip, stability and comfort. The new OLYMPUS 6 HIKE MID retains these features, with a durable leather upper and the innovative GORE-TEX Invisible Fit waterproof material.
The leather upper allows you to move with confidence in rocky terrain and other challenging environments where mesh uppers would be a concern. In addition, GORE-TEX Invisible Fit is bonded directly to the upper to provide a natural fit, like a non-waterproof shoe, while maintaining waterproof properties. The gapless construction also improves quick-drying properties.
The outsole features the Vibram Megagrip sole, known for its excellent grip, and is highly regarded by mountaineers.
The OLYMPUS series is classified as a 'thick-soled shoe' with a stack height of 33 mm, but its excellent stability is appealing. Guide rails on the inside provide firm support when the foot leans heavily inwards. Furthermore, the design of the sole fanning out towards the ground ensures a wide ground contact area and increased stability.
ALTRA's unique design is also still in place. The toe box, which conforms to the shape of the foot, reduces discomfort caused by foot swelling and maintains comfort even when worn for long periods of time. The zero-drop shape also absorbs shock across the foot, especially on downhill slopes, and supports natural movement.
