One reason is the MAX Cushion with a 33mm stack height. This effectively absorbs impact from the ground.

Olympus is classified as a "thick-soled shoe," yet its outstanding stability captivates many people.
This stability is achieved through a dual design: guide rails positioned inside to support the shoe when it threatens to collapse inward, and a sole that fans out toward the ground, maximizing contact area.

Furthermore, it features Vibram Megagrip soles, whose outstanding grip is a major factor in its popularity among hikers.

A wide toe box is another key feature. It maintains comfort even when feet swell, preventing the discomfort that makes you want to take your shoes off.
