New standards for carbon trekking poles
The ATP-125 breaks the common belief that trekking poles get heavier with every improvement in usability, such as telescopic, all-season, high load-bearing capacity, etc.
The ATP-125 uses a special carbon pipe with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, and its unique connection system enables it to be both lightweight and highly load-bearing.
It is 38 cm long when folded, adjustable from 100 cm to 125 cm when in use and boasts a load capacity of 36 kg, yet is ultra-lightweight with a minimum weight of 126 g.
The ATP-125 is the new standard for all-season, all-round trekking poles.
■Technical Note
Direct Filament Winding carbon pipes
If you compare the surface of the ATP-125 with a typical carbon pipe, you will notice that the carbon folds are different.
Typical carbon pipes are made using a UD sheet with carbon fibres running in one direction as the core material, with a lattice pattern of 3K sheets overlaid on the surface.
The advantage of this method is that it does not require large-scale manufacturing facilities, but its disadvantages include the need for overlapping sheets and the low carbon content ratio, which makes it difficult to increase the strength by weight.
On the other hand, ATP-125 uses carbon pipes with a particularly high strength-to-weight ratio, woven using the Direct Filament Winding method, which facilitates a high carbon content ratio, contributing to both light weight and high load capacity.
Unique folding linkage structure.
There are two types of trekking poles that are generally compact in storage size: telescopic and foldable.
The advantage of the telescopic type is a wide range of length adjustment and less trouble, but the small pipe diameter at the end becomes a bottleneck in terms of strength and a limiting factor in weight reduction.
The ATP-125 differs from the common construction in that, although it is a folding type, the connection is fixed with a screw. When the pipe is under load and the pipe is bent, the stress is dispersed to at least two points at the connection, the screw and the ferrule, making the structure less prone to cracking.
The lightweight, high-strength 7000-diameter aluminium alloy threads themselves also serve as reinforcement. The threads in the connecting section provide trouble-shooting capability and light weight.
The use of Dyneema reinforced shock cords makes them even lighter.
Typical folding systems are not lightweight, as the wires inside connect the pipes and must never break, and are protected by rubber or silicone.
On the other hand, the ATP-125 replaces the wire with Dyneema-reinforced shock cord, which is lighter. In the unlikely event that the shock cord breaks during use, the pipes are still connected by screws, which makes them less user-friendly but has no effect on their strength.
Furthermore, the shock cord can be easily replaced. You can easily replace them yourself without the need to send them in for repair each time.
Special snow basket included.
Snow baskets cannot be removed when used for four seasons.

Before ordering

Cancellation of orders
