TIMP 6 is a trail shoe that truly shines on long trails and extended hikes, offering "confidence to step firmly" on any terrain. It maintains stability even on courses prone to unstable footing—like wet rocks, boardwalks, and scree slopes—delivering a high-level blend of "grip," "cushioning," "fit," and "comfort."
The midsole features Altra EGO MAX, updated to a 30mm stack height. It delivers both impact-absorbing cushioning and responsive rebound, supporting your forward momentum while protecting your legs during extended runs.
The outsole is redesigned based on Vibram Megagrip for enhanced traction. It boosts grip confidence on both dry and wet surfaces, providing stable footing even when pushing the limits.
This model features a redesigned fit structure that improves the "snugness" felt the moment your foot steps in. We adjusted the internal volume (step-in clearance) to be more noticeable, ensuring a secure hold from the instep to the midfoot while minimizing any feeling of tightness. This delivers ALTRA's signature long-lasting comfort, reduces stress during flexion, and allows for a pleasant, sustained wearing experience.
The upper has been upgraded to Soft Rolled Mesh (85% RPET). This enhances comfort and breathability while also improving protection through a revised overlay design.
The TIMP 6 delivers a balanced performance that supports your feet "all the way to the finish," whether running or walking. This comes from the stable platform and comfort provided by its zero drop (0mm) and 30mm stack height, combined with GaiterTrap compatibility.
