Yamatomichi Merino Cap

Gently wraps around your head
100% Merino wool
A simple mid-weight (170-205g/m2) merino cap.
The design is simple, but we have paid careful attention to comfort and ease of use, with an exquisite material that is neither too thick nor too thin, a slightly deep crown, and an adjuster that can be adjusted with one hand.
This cap truly becomes a part of the hiker's body, so much so that they will forget they are even wearing it.
*Due to the characteristics of the fabric, the brim cannot be freely deformed.

■Product care
- When washing, please use a neutral detergent and hand wash in water at around 30°C.
・When drying, do not wring out too hard and dry flat in the shade.
-Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
-Due to the characteristics of the fabric, some shrinkage and warping may occur after washing.
Merino wool has excellent odor wicking properties so it doesn't need to be washed as often.
However, there are some disadvantages to this fabric, such as it being prone to holes caused by moths and shrinking easily, so it is important to wash and store it properly.
Please read each precaution carefully and use them to care for your product at home.

■About washing
Please wash by hand as washing in a washing machine may cause the item to lose its shape.
Please refrain from using a dryer as it may cause the fabric to shrink significantly.
Merino wool is a natural fiber, so the fibers are short and prone to pilling and fuzzing. However, after washing it several times, the fuzz will fall off to a certain extent and pilling will become less likely to occur.

- Wool fibers are slightly acidic, so washing them with alkaline detergent may damage their texture.
Use a mild detergent.
- Please wash by hand as washing in a washing machine may cause the brim to become distorted.
・The appropriate water temperature is around 30°C. Please note that washing at high temperatures may cause shrinkage.
- If detergent remains, it may cause insect damage, so be sure to rinse thoroughly.
- To prevent the shape from changing, do not wring it out too hard.
-To dehydrate, towel dry with a dry towel.
-After dehydration, dry flat in the shade.
- Do not use fabric softener as it may coat the fibres and interfere with the natural functions of wool.
- Do not use bleach as it may cause discoloration.
-Due to the characteristics of the fabric, slight warping may occur after washing.

■ Adjust the shape
If the cap loses its shape after washing and drying, moisten it with a steam iron or spray it with water, then place the cap over a colander or other hemispherical object to restore its shape and dry it thoroughly.

■ Store to prevent insect damage
Merino wool, an animal fiber, has the disadvantage that it is easily eaten by insects because the proteins contained in the fibers are attractive to insects.
However, with proper care you can reduce the risk of insect infestation.

- If even the slightest bit of moisture remains, it can become a breeding ground for insects, so be sure to dry it thoroughly before storing it.
・If you use a low-temperature iron to steam the item before storing it, the heat will have an insecticidal effect. After that, be sure to dry it thoroughly so that no moisture from the steam remains.
・To prevent the shape of the brim from collapsing, store the hat in a place that is not pressed under heavy objects.
- Avoid storing in humid places and store in a well-ventilated place if possible.
- If you use insect repellent, be sure to follow the instructions for use.
