This is a high-volume thermal over jacket that supports activities in harsh polar regions such as the 8000m peaks of the Himalayas. It uses GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER RipStop Insulated Shell (2 layers) and is filled with 900 fill power clean down photoelectric PRO with a shaped baffle structure that eliminates cold spots that cause heat loss. It combines high heat retention and excellent wind resistance, assuming activities in low temperatures where body heat can be lost due to strong winds. The shoulders and lower elbows, which are prone to wear, are reinforced with stronger fabric. The pockets are positioned and operable with the assumption that gloves and harnesses will be worn, improving ease of movement and ease of use. This is THE NORTH FACE's flagship model of polar wear that continues to support Yuichiro Miura's challenges.
