Standard for UL backpacks in Japan.
Highly expandable with a maximum capacity of 32 litres for day hikes as well as overnight hikes, yet weighing only 380g*. Designed to load effortlessly with the upper body, this UL backpack frees the lower back to walk comfortably on Japan's trails, which are often full of ups and downs.
Two materials are available: 200D HT PC coated ripstop nylon, a proprietary material that is resistant to hydrolysis, and Technoforce steel made from 100% ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (used in the front pocket and bottom only), which is extremely strong.
The standard for Japanese UL backpacks, which has undergone numerous updates since its launch and has gained in maturity.
Technoforce Steel (TS White) is priced at ¥36,000 (incl. tax) due to its different material.

■ Changes to the 2024 model.
Side pocket fabric changed to extremely strong ultra-stretch (custom colour: Black).
Compression cord buckles and guyline parts changed to smaller ones.

Elimination of hydration hose outlet.
Shoulder straps and back fabric changed from 200D Oxford to 200D HT PC coated ripstop nylon.
The sewing method of the shoulder strap adjustment tapes has been revised so that they are less likely to break even after prolonged use.
The tape deflection at the base of the sternum strap has been changed from one to two levels to facilitate compatibility with various shoulder strap optional parts from different companies.
Emergency whistle changed from grey to black.
Modified hip belt buckle.
Parts and patterns were changed to make it easier to open and close in action, including slightly lowering the side pockets for easier access to bottles.
Allows replacement of stretchable elastic on side pockets.
The fabric inside the front pocket and main body has been changed from white to light grey.

It is made from 100% lightweight and extremely strong Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHPE), so light that it floats on water, yet theoretically strong enough to withstand a weight of approximately 20 tonnes with a diameter of only 10 mm. This yarn is densely woven to achieve world-class tear resistance, tensile resistance and abrasion resistance, and the reverse side is coated with polycarbonate, which is far more resistant to hydrolysis than ordinary polyurethane, and has been tested in the Jungle Test, which measures degradation after long-term use, and has shown no significant change over 10 years. UHPE itself does not retain water, so the fabric does not become heavy with water.
It is also characterised by its unique wrinkled texture, which becomes softer and softer the more it is used.
■ Product care
Hand wash, do not use a washing machine.
For washing, add a suitable amount of neutral detergent to lukewarm water to the extent that the product is submerged.
Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
For washing, open the zip and remove the padding and other removable parts.
Partially wash the stained areas with a special washing brush or a soft sponge.
Rinse thoroughly to avoid detergent residue.
After washing, wipe dry with a soft cloth such as a towel and hang dry in the shade with the mouth of the backpack facing down.
Store in a well-ventilated place and out of direct sunlight.
Do not use an iron.
Wash the pads by hand gently and rinse well, then wipe dry and hang dry in the shade.

Before ordering
