An evolving classic
Like the first model released when the brand was launched, this wind shell is made from pre-consumer recycled nylon fabric.
The original Apostle was made with yarn manufactured overseas, but the new Apostle uses yarn and fabric manufactured domestically. It has been made stretchy and is now easier to use in more active situations. The polyurethane blended in to give it stretchability is also made from recycled consumer materials.
In addition, cupra material (※) is placed in a dot pattern on the inside of the fabric that touches the skin, reducing the garment sticking to the skin when sweating.
The first model was well received by many people due to its matte texture and non-technical look, but we wanted to add more stretch for mountain use, so we changed to the current fabric.
One drawback is that the amount of CO2 emissions during the production of recycled nylon yarn is not calculated. The first model was announced to emit 75% less CO2 during production than virgin nylon yarn. However, the exact figure is not known for this new fabric. We consider this to be an issue. If we could know the degree of reduction in CO2 emissions, we would be able to verify the environmental contribution of STATIC as a single piece of clothing.
*Pre-consumer recycled nylon:
This is a product made by recycling nylon cotton waste generated during the manufacture of nylon yarn, which was previously incinerated, into nylon yarn and fabric.
*Cupra material:
This natural material is made by regenerating the downy parts of cotton seeds that were previously discarded. It is said to be soft to the touch, has excellent moisture-regulating properties, and is less prone to static electricity.
