Static Yak Breeze Pullover

■Quote from manufacturer's description
- Hybrid yarn evolved for mountain climbing
Yak wool is wrapped around nylon thread, improving durability while maintaining the warmth and soft feel of yak wool.
By making the yarn stronger, we were able to change the knitting pattern to a border mesh, which has dramatically improved breathability.

The easy-to-use YAK BREEZE has been created for mountain climbing.
Compared to the YAK PULLOVER, which is made from 100% yak wool, the fabric is slightly thinner.
It has just the right amount of warmth and breathability for light hikes, and can also be used as a warm garment at a tent site.
We also recommend putting the hood on and crawling into your sleeping bag for a warm and comfortable sleep.

〇YAK WOOL
Unlike sheep, which have undergone much breeding since the Industrial Revolution, yaks are primitive bovine animals that originated in Tibet.
They inhabit alpine grasslands at altitudes of 3,000 to 6,000 meters in places like Tibet and Nepal throughout the year, and are active just below the snow line in winter.
Yaks are said to be a species with excellent cold resistance.
To help them get through the long winter, they grow a downy coat as winter approaches and it falls out in the spring.

Nomads collect these, wash them, and turn them into high-quality raw materials.
Nowadays, it is carefully combed by hand, just like cashmere.
Unlike sheep, this method does not require shearing all of the wool from the animal's body, and there is no need for mulesing (※), so it is also ethically sound.

Yak down can be collected every year, but only about 100g to 300g can be obtained from one adult yak.
Wool weighs about 4kg, so in comparison this wool is extremely rare.
The yak hair used by STATIC is from Tibet, with approximately 100g harvested from each animal.
We do not harvest too much, and we limit the amount harvested so as not to stress the yaks.
*Mulesing is the practice of removing the skin and flesh from a lamb's genitals to prevent maggot infestation.

■PRODUCT FEATURE
・Hybrid fiber made from synthetic fiber and yak wool
- Border weave provides high breathability
- Tightly fitted balaclava hood
- It has a thumb hole so it can also be used as a simple glove.
-Drop tail prevents back from showing when bending over
- Uses yak hair that lives at altitudes of over 4000m
Yak hair is very thin, with a diameter of less than 20 microns and a length of about 3.5 to 4.5 cm. Compared to sheep's wool, it does not have the scales on the surface of the hair that cause shrinkage, so it does not generally require shrink-proofing.
- 30% more heat retaining than wool, almost the same as cashmere
- It is 30% more breathable than cashmere and does not get stuffy easily.
Very soft and gentle to the touch and feel
High elasticity makes it less likely to wrinkle

■Tips
There is a hole for a drawstring to improve the fit of the hood opening. You can customize it yourself, but at your own risk.
* Yak is a fiber that is weak to abrasion, so please choose a cord that is as soft as possible.
*Please be careful not to pull the cord outward to the left or right as this may tear the hole.

■PRODUCT CARE
Please enjoy your knitwear by following the correct care instructions to ensure it will last a long time.
Dry cleaning is recommended.
Wearing it for long periods of time may cause it to lose its shape, so please let it rest after wearing it for a day.
After wearing, use a soft brush to remove any dust or dirt from the surface, align the fur, and dry in the shade in a well-ventilated area. (Hanging for a long time may cause the shape to change, so please dry flat as much as possible.)
During the off-season, fill it with insect repellent and store it folded in a well-ventilated place.

■SUSTAINABILITY
・Yak hair is collected by combing it before it falls off to the ground.
・Since it does not undergo the chlorine resin treatment commonly used for wool, it does not emit chlorine organic compounds and does not burden the environment.
- It is not coated with resin, which is a common shrink-proofing agent, so it is highly biodegradable.
・Undyed color is not dyed, but rather uses the natural color of yak hair. This has many benefits, such as no CO2 emissions during dyeing, no chemical dyes, and no water.
- Non-mulesing: Since the fleece is made from naturally falling hair, there is no need to mulege like with sheep, making it gentler on the animals.
・We also use eco-friendly labels.

*Since we use manufacturer images, the specifications (logo position, color, pattern position, etc.) may differ slightly from this product.
