If microplastics are discharged into the ocean, they pose the following risks:

- Preys on plankton etc.
・Organisms that eat microplastics are then eaten by species higher up the food chain, which can eventually end up in the mouths of humans
・Plastic easily absorbs harmful substances contained in seawater, and there is a risk that substances widely dissolved in the ocean will become concentrated in plastic.

The brushed interior of "Mt to Sea" is made from Tencel fibre, which is derived from eucalyptus.
This Tencel has been proven to be biodegradable in seawater under certain conditions.
Of course, it is not a fiber that has been proven to biodegrade under all conditions, but it can be said that it is more environmentally friendly than discharging petroleum-derived polyester.
One solution that fabric manufacturers are working on to solve the problem of microplastic emissions is fleece that uses polyester, which is not biodegradable in seawater but does not easily escape. However, STATIC has chosen Tencel, which is considered to be more environmentally friendly.
Tencel is a natural fiber, its production does not involve the use of harmful substances and requires little water, and all of the water is reused within the factory.
Eucalyptus is also a sustainable material as it grows vigorously in certain cultivated areas without affecting human food supply.
And best of all, it's petroleum-free.
It also feels soft against the skin and is comfortable to wear.
The exterior is made of long-fiber polyester that does not shed.
However, Tencel is less quick-drying than polyester.

Zipper
The chest zipper is a recycled TKK zipper.
The raw materials are PET bottles.
The front zipper is a two-way open design that opens from the top and bottom, and the hand pockets have concealed zippers.
Neither is recycling.
