These neck gaiters, shorter than a kubimaki, are used to warm the neck area to beat the cold and wipe away sweat, and are an idea borrowed from PRIRET, a mountain stall manufacturer.
Patterned items with traditional Japanese patterns, which are closely associated with Ling, are also essential for accentuating Ling's dressing style.
It was carefully finished by craftsmen from the Kiryu area in Gunma Prefecture, which has long flourished as a silk weaving centre and was described in the Kamige karuta as 'Kiryu is the place for Japanese textiles'.
