It looks like a simple round-neck cardigan, but it is a light and fluffy active insulation that combines a very breathable shell with a moderately warm lining.
Teijin Octa, a revolutionary polyester material, weighs only half as much as polyester fibres of the same diameter, and its central cavity and eight protrusions arranged in a radial pattern on the surface not only absorb and diffuse sweat quickly, but also contain a lot of dead air in the space created by its unique shape. This creates a heat shielding and heat retention effect.
It is effective as active insulation on mountain passes in cold weather, providing adequate warmth but also releasing perspiration, and as insulation on ancient paths in warmer weather, preventing sweat chill during stagnation, and can be slipped into a gap in a backpack for all-year-round use.
It is also finished with a neat round neck, taking into account that it can be overlaid.
