The Escalante Racer has a 22 mm stack height, which is rarely seen these days, and this transforms the quality of the ride. First of all, you can clearly feel where you are landing on your feet. Landing directly under the centre of gravity and with the entire sole changes the sound of your footsteps. Energy is transferred firmly to the ground and you can feel the reaction of the energy to move forward. These shoes encourage natural form and let you rediscover the joy of running.

The main feature of the Escalante Racer is ALTRA's unique EGO midsole, which has excellent resilience. This is compressed to create additional resilience. The upper has a large mesh construction that is so breathable that socks can be seen through it, making it difficult to get stuffy.

In this update, the lateral flexibility has been strengthened to further enhance the feeling of oneness with the foot.
