The lug pattern on the outsole has been revised to provide better multi-directional grip.
Another major feature of Superior is that the Stone Guard that is usually built in is removable.
The Stone Guard has now been completely redesigned to be lighter, more breathable, and provide better protection where you need it most.
You can experience two completely different sensations with just one pair of shoes; sometimes you remove the Stone Guard to sharpen your sense of touch and use your toes properly, and sometimes you put the Stone Guard on to protect your feet from pressure from below.
Therefore, you can first try running without the Stone Guard to strengthen your toes, and then wear the Stone Guard when you are running in areas with lots of rocks or when you are racing.
The lightweight and firm-holding Superior 5 is perfect for practicing footwork when going downhill, making it a highly recommended shoe for beginners as well as advanced skiers.
