We took on the challenge of finding a balance between these conflicting demands in a new dimension that is different from existing tents.
Early on in the development process we calculated the weight of materials and it quickly became apparent that we needed to use tent poles that prioritised lightweight over strength.
I had a hunch that adopting lighter tent poles while still maintaining the strength required for a mountain tent would be a question that would not be easily answered.
Using their experience as engineers and thinking carefully, the answer they arrived at was a truss structure that makes use of a unique sleeve hub structure and guy lines.
The Sleeve Hub is an innovative structure that combines the strength advantages of both the sleeve type and the hanging type, which traditional tents have had to choose between.
In addition, by combining it with a truss structure using guy lines, the strength of the tent can be increased according to the weather.
We place as much importance on livability as on strength, and we use our own unique ideas to make our homes attractive.
The depth of most mountain tents from Japanese brands that are designed for two people is measured to be between 120cm and 127cm, but this one is set at a generous 133cm.
With a width of 210cm and a height of 102cm, it provides a spacious space.
In addition to the living space, it also has a unique rear space that can be used to store gear, providing plenty of space for two people in this mountain tent.
Despite its outstanding performance and livability, it is lightweight, weighing just 1,080g.
We have achieved one of the largest floor areas of any two-person mountain tent.
(Equipped weight is 1225g, but the weight of the included ground sheet (113g) is not included in the equipped weight)
The product includes the tent body, fly sheet, pegs, poles and a ground sheet.
