Using the same 80% alpaca / 20% TENCEL natural blend as the AG-tee, we bring you an excellent lightweight sun parka designed to keep you cool, comfortable and protected.
However, the 80% alpaca content ensures that it is safe to use in cool and damp weather.
Alpaca is superior to merino.
This sustainable sun parka is made from 80% alpaca to control odours, is durable and quick-drying, and is built to regulate your body temperature while you sweat.
...sized for a classic fit. If a more dynamic fit is required, the size can be lowered.
Alpaca is a variable natural fibre and the weight may vary from lot to lot.
The weight of the Men's 8020 Sun Hoodie ranges from 7 to 11 oz, depending on size.
8020 Sun Hoodies are not as stretchy as fleece and are also quite firm knits.

Appalachian Gear Company's special knit construction is resistant to 'wire', so if you puncture a hole while in the backcountry, you need not worry about the hole getting longer, although it may get slightly larger over time.
It delivers the 'run' as experienced with many lightweight knits.

You do not need to wash this garment often. Just hang it up when actively sweating.
Alpaca leaves no odour and prevents the growth of bacteria.
As it is an animal fibre, it is susceptible to insect damage and, like wool, should be kept free from insects.
However, washing will not damage the hoodie.
Turn the 8020 Sun hoodie inside out (this is important).
Use small loads, cold water, light or gentle cycle and wash with other high-performance materials.
It is recommended not to wash large quantities of laundry or with thicker fabrics such as jeans/towels.
Use normal detergents. Do not use 'washing soda', chlorine bleach, peroxide bleach or 'oxygen-based detergents'.
For the first 3-5 washes, hang or lay flat to dry naturally.
There is not much moisture left in the alpaca after the spin cycle and it dries quickly.
After the first 3-5 washes, the hoodies can be tumble dried.
However, tumble dry with other similar items on low and small loads. Drying only takes approximately 10-12 minutes. Medium to high settings are not recommended.
You will notice a slight shrinkage in length after 3-5 washes, but the pattern allows for this.
The fabric also has a very fine 'fluff', which improves the comfort and performance of the garment.
○ If you are backpacking or travelling and for some reason need to wash this garment and cannot get hold of regular detergent:.
-Backpacking: rinse with river water and allow to dry naturally. Do not use detergents and follow the principle of leaving no traces.
▪ Travel, hotels and hostels: use shampoo, neutral liquid dish/hand detergent (1-2 drops), rinse in sink, wring out, hang dry or place on towels to dry.
